The team even caught a glimpse of a soccer superstar, the Argentinian jersey of Lionel Messi!

Afterwards, the team took to the streets to head to an iconic fountain. The team had a few laughs along the way.
At the fountain, the Gophers threw a few coins in the water as tokens for wishes.

After the stop at the fountain, the team grabbed some food and then headed to KIDs, a home for children from various countries who do have treatment available back in their homelands, so they come to Italy.

The team ended their day with their second soccer game in as many days. The team would come out on top with a 3-0 decision. Goals came from Makenzie Langdok, TJ McKendrick and newcomer, Lydia Ruppert. Other players such as Patricia Ward who is seen below, made some debuts!
The Gophers tomorrow will be back on the bus as they travel to yet another city. They will also play their final game of the Italy trip, which is the third game in three days.
Make sure you follow the Gophers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so you don't miss any more content throughout the trip to Italy!
The University of Minnesota women's soccer team is currently traveling to Italy for an eight day trip where they will sight see, and play some soccer along the way. This scrapbook series will put in perspective a day of events with the Gophers.
The Gophers had a jam packed day in Italy. They began the day with a trip to the Vatican, which is the smallest country in the world. They then took a trip to KIDs which is a place where children go that cannot obtain treatment in their native country. Then the Gophers picked up their second win in as many days, a 3-0 victory to cap the day off.
