CoSIDA: Announcing 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Baseball Teams (May 10, 2018)
The Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Baseball Teams Thursday morning, and Gopher Baseball’s Micah Coffey earned a selection as one of four infielders on the District 6 team, representing nine states.
The senior Coffey, who is pursuing a degree in human resource development, has a 3.84 GPA in his collegiate career. Coffey received the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award last year and will be a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection when his career ends. Not just impressive in the classroom, the native of Batavia, Illinois is batting .278 in 44 games this season, slugging four home runs and six doubles on the year. Each of the last two seasons, Coffey has landed on the All-Big Ten Second Team.
First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot with First and Second Team All-American honorees to be announced in June.
