Gopher Ties Compete With USA Volleyball

Golden Gopher ties are well represented on two current USA volleyball teams, all competing internationally this past month.
Current Gopher Stephanie Samedy is competing with the USA Collegiate National Team – China. In her first match with Team USA, Samedy led all scorers with 18 points on 36 swings in a five-set decision over Shanghai Bright Ubes. In a three-set win over Zhejiang and second match in a row, Samedy led all attackers with 15 points on 39 attacks. She continues action through this week.
Gopher alumnae Tori Dixon, Lauren Gibbemeyer and Sarah Wilhite are all competing with USA Volleyball on the FIVB Volleyball Nation's League matches. Dixon and Gibbemeyer competed with USA's team in Lincoln, Neb., while Wilhite joined Team USA for their trip to Japan and Thailand. In eight total matches played, Dixon and Gibbemeyer have started in four matches each, while Wilhite has seen action in three matches.
