MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota women's hockey senior Sydney Baldwin was honored as one of two Lindahl Outstanding Student-Athlete Achievement Award recipients when Gopher Athletics held its annual Golden Goldys awards ceremony at TCF Bank Stadium. The Golden Goldys recognize both the athletic and academic achievements of Minnesota's student-athletes.

Baldwin joined Gopher men's gymnastics senior Yaroslav Pochinka in accepting this year's Outstanding Student-Athlete Achievement Awards, which are presented annually to one female and one male student-athlete in recognition of their success in both the classroom and athletics.

Baldwin is set to graduate with degrees in health services management and human resources development. In addition to her success in the classroom, she was named a CCM/AHCA First Team All-American, WCHA Player off the Year, and WCHA Defensive Player of the Year. Baldwin had an outstanding senior season for the Gophers, during which she earned All-WCHA First Team honors and a Patty Kazmaier top-10 finalist nod. Baldwin also took home four WCHA Defensive Player of the Month awards. She had at least one point in 23 of 38 games, including seven multi-point games with two multi-goal games.
