FULL PRELIM ROSTER
Gopher Volleyball alums, Hannah Tapp, Sarah Wilhite and Paige Tapp were named to USA Volleyball's Pan Am Cup preliminary roster, announced today by the organization. All three individuals will compete in the Red-Blue intrasquad scrimmage, June 22, in Irvine, Calif.Â
The Red-Blue scrimmage, scheduled for 7 p.m. PT at Irvine Valley College, will be used in the evaluation process on selecting Team USA's 14-player roster for the Pan American Cup that takes place July 8-14 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.Â
The Red-Blue will utilize the Pan American Cup 25-player preliminary roster with players switching colors throughout the match. The U.S. preliminary roster for the Pan Am Cup has three setters, four liberos, five opposites, six outside hitters and seven middles. Not all players are expected to dress for the Red-Blue. The University of Minnesota, Penn State University and University of Nebraska have three former players on the Pan American Cup preliminary roster.Â
Wilhite just returned to the United States after competing with USA Volleyball in the FIVB Volleyball Nation's League, where Team USA most recently competed in Argentina. She completed her first professional season in Italy and joins former teammate Paige Tapp, in Germany with Stuttgart. It marks the second season Paige will play in the German League. Hannah completed her first year in the Italian league with Bisonte before suffering an injury midway through the season. She's back and ready to compete in the USA gym again.Â
