Fans donated 15,750 diapers at team's annual diaper drive
The University of Minnesota football team held its F.A.M.I.L.Y. Day practice last Friday evening as it welcomed fans to TCF Bank Stadium. In addition to watching the Gophers practice, there was face painting, yard games, inflatables, post-practice autographs and appearances by the spirit squad and Goldy Gopher.
Minnesota fans were also asked to bring disposable diapers to the practice to help families in need and better the community. One in three Minnesota families struggles to buy diapers, so the Gophers joined forces with the Diaper Bank of Minnesota to host a diaper drive for the second consecutive year. This year, fans donated 15,750 diapers and 2,968 wipes. Last year, Minnesota collected 13,546 diapers and 1,169 wipes for the diaper bank.
Thank you to all the fans who contributed this year and helped make the community a better place.
