Big Ten Conference Schedule Announced

The Minnesota men's basketball team's conference schedule is set, as the Big Ten announced the full slate of games on Tuesday. Game times and television broadcast information will be released at a later date. Minnesota's full non-conference schedule will be announced in the near future as well.
With a new 20-game conference schedule, the Big Ten season will once again begin the first week of December. It starts on the road for the Gophers, who will travel to Ohio State on Sunday, Dec. 2. Three days later, Minnesota will host Nebraska in the first of two meetings between the two teams.
Big Ten play will not ramp up again until after New Year's Day, when the Gophers travel to Madison for the first of two Border Battles with Wisconsin on Thursday, January 3. Two home games follow against Maryland (Tuesday, Jan. 8) and Rutgers (Saturday, Jan. 12), followed by a road game at Illinois (Wednesday, Jan. 16), a home date with Penn State (Saturday, Jan. 19), a trip to Ann Arbor to face Michigan (Tuesday, Jan. 22) and back-to-back games at the Barn against Iowa (Sunday, Jan. 27) and Illinois (Wednesday, Jan. 30).
February begins on the road with a trip to Purdue (Sun., Feb. 3), the Williams Arena edition of the matchup with the Badgers (Wednesday, Feb. 6) and a pair of trips to Michigan State (Saturday, Feb. 9) and Nebraska (Wednesday, Feb. 13). Minnesota's final two-game homestand is against Indiana (Saturday, Feb. 16) and Michigan (Thursday, Feb. 21), with three of the final four regular season games away from Minneapolis.
The Gophers travel to Rutgers (Sunday, Feb. 24) and Northwestern (Thursday, Feb. 28), before hosting Purdue on Senior Night (Tuesday, Mar. 5). Regular season play concludes in College Park on Friday, March 8 when the Gophers face Maryland.
The Big Ten Tournament returns to Chicago, where a champion will be crowned over five days beginning on Wednesday, March 13.
