Gopher Athletics Launches Mobile-Based Student Tickets

8/23/2018 3:00:00 PM | Athletics

Gopher Athletics announced today that all students who purchase tickets to events will receive and use those tickets through a newly launched mobile ticketing platform, beginning this fall. University of Minnesota students will now use their mobile devices to store their tickets for upcoming events, scan their tickets at the gate as they enter events and forward unused tickets to other student fans. The athletics department has partnered with Experience to deliver this convenient, paperless approach to student tickets.

"We are always listening to feedback from our fans and looking for ways to take their thoughts and improve their experience with Gopher Athletics," said Athletics Director Mark Coyle. "Our students have told us they would prefer a mobile ticketing option, something many fans have come to expect at any major entertainment event. This new all-mobile ticketing system creates a simple and quick way for students to get their tickets and get into the game without having to pick up and carry around paper tickets."

For Gopher football, men's basketball and men's hockey, students will continue to purchase their tickets through GopherSports.com/students and will create an account on GopherStudentTix.com to receive their tickets on their mobile device.

Single game tickets and student guest tickets will still need to be purchased through the Gopher Athletics ticket office located inside the main lobby of 3M Arena at Mariucci.  No single game tickets or guest tickets will be available via GopherStudentTix.com.

Students can attend home competitions for every other Gopher program completely free of charge. That includes 22 different Gopher teams – baseball, softball, volleyball, wrestling, women's basketball and many more. Tickets for any of these events can be reserved with a valid U of M student email address by visiting GopherStudentTix.com on a mobile device.
