Decker Announces Retirement From NFL

Gopher legend steps away from the game after eight seasons and 54 total touchdowns
Former University of Minnesota star Eric Decker announced his retirement from the NFL earlier today. Decker, who posted the news on his personal Instagram account, is stepping away from the game after eight seasons.
The Cold Springs, Minn., native played for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans during his career and made 439 receptions for 5,816 yards with 53 touchdowns. He helped lead the Broncos to an AFC Championship in 2013 and to a berth in Super Bowl XLVIII.
Decker lettered at Minnesota from 2006-09 and is the Gophers' all-time leading receiver. He ended his collegiate career with 227 catches for 3,119 yards and 24 touchdowns in 45 games. He was then drafted in the third round with the 87th overall pick but the Broncos.
Decker also lettered twice in baseball for the Gophers, and was twice selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.
