Running back Mohamed Ibrahim rumbled for more than 100 yards in his first career game
There were three 100-yard performances last night in Minnesota's 48-10 trouncing of New Mexico State. Yes, three.
Everyone saw Rodney Smith gash the Aggie defense for career-best (tied) 153 rushing yards and 189 all-purpose yards. Fans marveled at star receiver Tyler Johnson's five catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
And then there was running back Mohamed Ibrahim. The redshirt freshman carried the ball nine times for 101 yards in his first action as a Gopher. His day was highlighted by a 74-yard jaunt that set up Minnesota's final touchdown of the game.
Ibrahim became the first Gopher since Thomas Hamner to rush for 100 yards in his Gopher debut since Hamner gained 158 yards on 22 carries on Sept. 7, 1996, at Northeast Louisiana.
