The Gophers went for it on fourth down 13 times last season and converted on 10 tries. That 76.9 conversion rate ranked first in the Big Ten and second in the nation last year. Only Alabama had a higher percentage as it converted 83.3% percent of its fourth-down opportunities.
Seven of Minnesota's conversions came on fourth-and-one, while two came on fourth-and-two and one took place on fourth-and-four. Minnesota rushed for nine of its first downs on fourth down and threw for one last season.
