Carpenter drilled a 50-yard field goal at the Tropical Bowl

Minnesota kicker Emmit Carpenter competed in the Tropical Bowl on Sunday in Daytona Beach, Fla. The All-Big Ten kicker connected on a 50-yard field goal and made his lone extra point in front of NFL scouts.  Carpenter made 53-of-67 career field goals and his 79.1 field goal conversion rate ranks first in school history (minimum 25 attempts). His 53 career field goals ranks third all-time at Minnesota and he ended his career with 276 points, which is second all-time in school history for all players.

Carpenter made 31-of-40 field goals at TCF Bank Stadium, 19-of-23 on the road and was 3-of-4 in neutral-site games. The 2016 Big Ten Kicker of the Year made 117-of-118 career point-after attempts (117 is second most all-time) and ended his career with 80 consecutive PATs (second most of all-time).

As a senior, Carpenter made 17-of-23 field goals and 43 point-after attempts. He led Minnesota with 94 points and was named Academic All-Big Ten for the third time in his career.
