Q&A with Tre' Williams

11/19/2019 7:45:00 PM | Men's Basketball

This Q&A will appear in the Nov. 21 game program against Central Michigan. Interview by Matt Little, Athletic Communications Student Assistant

Gopher Sports: Why Minnesota?
Williams: Just the vibe of the team; everyone gels together like a family. Plus, it's a big time program, and I felt like I can chase my dreams coming out of it, so it was a good spot for me.

GS: What's your favorite memory you have throughout your entire basketball career?
Williams: My sophomore year I had 41 points and I lead my team to an upset. That was probably my favorite memory.

GS: What was your favorite memory from the trip to Italy over the summer?
Williams: Throughout the whole trip, I'd say being at the Colosseum. Just walking around and experiencing everything they had to offer out there, seeing all the sites and just everything about it. That was probably my favorite.

GS: Describe yourself in 1-3 words.
WIlliams: Confident and loyal.

GS: What would you say is this team's biggest strength?
Williams: Our toughness.

GS: Who's the best 2k player on the team?
Williams: I'm going to give that to Eric.

GS: When you aren't playing ball, what do you like to do?
Williams: I really just like to kick it at the crib. Play a little bit of Fortnite, and just hang with the boys.

GS: Who's the best Fortnite player on the team?
Williams: Me. Definitely me.

GS: How would you describe your experience here at the U?
Williams: No complaints, I love it out here.

GS: Where do you see yourself after college?
Williams: My goal is the pros, that's where I want to go. If not, I'd want to be a businessman. Maybe own a business or get deep into marketing, something like that.
