Sixteen Soccer Student-Athletes Named Academic All-Big Ten

Sixteen Gopher soccer student-athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.Â
The full list includes: Ana Aguado, Nikki Albrecht, Catherine Billings, McKenna Buisman, Arianna Del Moral, Alana Dressely, Megan Gray, Haley Hartkemeyer, Athena Kuehn, Makenzie Langdok, TJ McKendrick, Maddie Nielsen, Celina Nummerdor, Delaney Stekr, Patricia Ward, and Marisa Windingstad.Â
"We are extremely proud of the players honored with Academic All-Big Ten Honors," head coach Stefanie Golan said. "Our program has always placed a heavy emphasis on academics as these student-athletes are here to get a quality degree that will take them places in life, and our student-athletes invest a great deal into their academics. To see them honored for their work in the classroom is very rewarding."
Multiple of the Gophers have earned several honors including three-time winners Albrecht, Billings, McKendrick, and Windingstad. Plus there are two-time recipients Del Moral, Hartkemeyer, Kuehn, Langdok, Nielsen, and Nummerdor. .Â
In November Albrecht, Windingstad, Kuehn, and Nielsen earned CoSIDA Academic All-District first-team status.Â
This season the Gophers earned one more honor than last season. Since Coach Golan took the head job in 2012 the Maroon and Gold have now earned 117 Academic All-Big Ten honors.Â
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
