Nikki Albrecht Earns Scholar All-Region honors

Minnesota soccer senior Nikki Albrecht earned Scholar All-Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches, it was announced Monday afternoon.
The association announced that Albrecht had earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-North/Central Region second team. Albrecht was the only Gopher on the list, but one of 19 total Big Ten women's soccer student-athletes to earn recognition.
This is Albrecht's third academic honor this offseason after previously being recognized as Academic All-Big Ten and COSIDA Academic All-District. Plus, the Wisconsin native was also named to the Third Team All-Big Ten after a season where she started all but one match and notched one goal.
Albrecht is set to graduate this winter from the 'U' with a degree in Kinesiology.
The award regulations are as follows per the Big Ten: "To be eligible for Scholar All-Region honors, students must be a junior or above in academic standing, maintain a 3.30 cumulative GPA or better throughout their careers, have started more than 50 percent of all games and been a significant contributor to their team, and be nominated by the head coach of a current United Soccer Coaches College Services member institution."
