In honor of Black History Month, Gopher Athletics is celebrating those who made us great. Throughout February, GopherSports.com will share short interviews with African-American alumni from various Gopher programs. In these interviews, former student-athletes reflect on their time at the U of M, provide advice to current Gophers and share what Black History Month means to them personally.

What is it you miss most about the University?
I miss the overall culture of the University the most. It's like one big family there.
If you could give the current student-athletes any piece of advice, what would it be?
Take one day at a time. Don't rush it, as we know it goes fast so live in the moment and trust your teammates and coaches.
What was your favorite university or athletic event you've attended since you graduated and what made it so special to you?
It was the 2018 homecoming football game. It was great being in that atmosphere again with all my favorite people watching the game and presentation. It brought back some of my favorite memories.
What are you grateful for?
I'm grateful for everything I have in my life right now. I am extremely grateful for everything the U of M had given me during my time as a student-athlete there. I have people in my life now that I'll be with for the rest of my life.
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Black History month means a lot to me. It gives us a great chance to shine the light on some incredible
African American trail blazers.
What occupies your time now?
Entertainment Industry in Los Angeles as a production specialist. I help create production books for multiple studios Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. Also directing my own content and leading my own team of artist in a production creation group.
