The University of Minnesota women's soccer team has added grad transfer Cachet Lue to the roster for the 2019 season. The defender competed at Texas Christian University as an undergraduate and will enroll at Minnesota in the fall of 2019.

The Mississauga, Ontario native is coming to the Gophers after spending four years in Fort Worth, Texas. She plans to continue to study Sports Psychology and is excited to be able to compete as a part of the Golden Gophers program.

"I chose the University of Minnesota because I felt that this environment was going to challenge me on and off the field," said Lue. "I could tell that my future teammates were motivated and competitive. I felt as though the women on the coaching staff were intelligent  and trustworthy. Each person I met at the U, I felt would have a positive impact on me personally and professionally in a short period of time."

During her time with the Horned Frogs, Lue started in all 64 games, tallying 6010 minutes on the field. She was voted Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 by her teammates and served as junior captain and co-captain during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. She was also named to the 2016 Big 12 All-Newcomer Team.

In addition to her collegiate career, Lue has competed on the U-17 and U-20 Jamaican National teams and has appeared in 3 CONCACAF tournaments as a Jamaican Youth National Team member. In 2013, she played on the U-20 team at the Caribbean Cup and advanced to the first round of CFU. At the end of the month, Lue will be attending women's soccer camp in preparations for the 2019 World Cup.
