RALEIGH, N.C. – Rainy weather prevented the Gopher Baseball team from opening its three-game road series at NC State on Friday afternoon. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. CT.

All-American right-hander Patrick Fredrickson was set to go for Minnesota (2-5) in the series opener with the Wolfpack. He and hard-throwing righty Sam Thoresen will go to work against N.C. State (8-0) in Saturday' doubleheader. Saturday's weather forecast calls for sun and temperatures in the low 60s and just a 9 percent chance on rain in Raleigh.
