Four-time All-American Samantha Seliger-Swenson is one of 17 athletes invited to participate in USA Volleyball's spring training block, March 16-23 in Anaheim, Calif.

All 17 athletes will be evaluated for additional training this summer with the full U.S. Women's National Team with the opportunity to make international rosters including the Pan American Games and Pan American Cup.

Seliger-Swenson is one of three setters invited to participate and one of four athletes that finished their collegiate careers. All 17 athletes have used the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryout to gain access to this second tryout, whether in 2019 or in previous years.

Seliger-Swenson completed her Gopher career this past December. She became the first-ever Gopher to become an four-time All-American and finished her collegiate career with 5,674 assists. It ranks fourth on Minnesota's career list and the most assists since rally scoring began in 2008. The 2018 Big Ten Player of the Year guided her team to a Big Ten championship. Individually, Seliger-Swenson had 1,203 assists (averaging 12.58 per set) and had 263 digs, a team-best 38 aces and 41 blocks her senior year. The team's MVP, she was also named the Big Ten Setter of the Week seven times in 2018 and led Minnesota to a 19-1 league record. During her Gopher tenure, Seliger-Swenson was a four-time AVCA All-American, the Big Ten Player of the Year (2018), a two-time Big Ten Co- or Setter of the Year (2018, 2016) and Big Ten Freshman of the Year (2015).
