Fiser named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

For the second time this season Amber Fiser has been named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday. 

Fiser did not allow a run the entire weekend at the USF Tournament. She pitched a complete game shutout on Friday against host, USF, and followed it up with another complete game shutout against Wichita State on Saturday. She closed out the weekend with six shutout innings against USF. 

The Van Horne, Iowa native only allowed 10 hits the entire weekend and only walked two batters while firing in 13 strikeouts. The junior ace has not allowed a run in 25 straight innings and has only allowed one run in four consecutive wins.

After the three wins this weekend, Fiser is 11-5 with a 1.21 ERA and 118 strikeouts. She is holding opposing batters to just a .163 batting average. She has now pitched in five shutouts this season and has gone eight complete games. 

This is the sixth time that Fiser has been honored by the Big Ten. Natalie DenHartog and Hope Brandner have each been recognized this season as well. The Gophers are on their spring break trip and will play No. 7/7 Florida on the SEC Network this Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT.
