The University of Minnesota women's soccer team has added transfer Katie Koker to the roster for the 2019 season. The defender competed at Marquette University as a freshman and will enroll at Minnesota in the fall of 2019 to continue her undergraduate education while she competes with the team..

The Racine, Wis. native plans to continue to study Finance and Entrepreneurship and is excited to be able to compete as a part of the Golden Gophers program.

"I chose the University of Minnesota because of its unparalleled commitment to its student-athletes," said Koker. "The University of Minnesota supports their student athletes completely and gives them a strong foundation to succeed in the classroom and in their sport. The moment I stepped on campus, I could see the professionalism and dedication in each person I met."

As a true freshman for the Golden Eagles, Koker played 1,136 minutes in 18 games, starting 14 of the matches. She finished the 2018 season with three points after scoring a goal against Seton Hall and notching an assist against Georgetown.

During her high school years, Koker played just one season at The Prairie School, leading the team to a Wisconsin Division 4 State Championship. In place of high school soccer, Koker was a member of the Olympic Development Regional team from 2014-16. She also competed with Chicago Eclipse Select Soccer Club and led SC Waukesha to win the state championship four years in a row (2013-16).
