Traffic Alert: Busy Weekend of Athletic Events

With a variety of athletic events this weekend (March 7-10), fans of the Maroon and Gold headed to campus should allow for extra time.
Big Ten wrestling championships (Williams Arena), men's hockey Big Ten quarterfinals (3M Arena at Mariucci), women's hockey WCHA championship (Ridder Arena), Minnesota State High School League boys hockey (3M Arena at Mariucci) and the Minnesota Short Course Championships (Aquatic Center) are all competing on the University of Minnesota campus this weekend.
Big Ten wrestling starts competition Saturday at 10 a.m. and runs throughout the day. Action picks up again at noon on Sunday. Men's hockey's hosts Michigan, Friday-Sunday at 6 p.m., Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, if needed. WCHA semifinal games are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. starts on Saturday, followed by the championship game on Sunday at 2 p.m. Swimming at the Aquatic Center begins at 8 a.m., Friday-Sunday and runs throughout the day. MSHSL boys hockey consolation finals will be held at 10 a.m., Friday and 9 a.m., Saturday.
Suggested public parking areas surrounding Gopher athletic facilities include: Maroon lot, Lot C37, 4th street ramp, Oak street ramp and Washington Ave ramp.
Fans are encouraged to allow for extra time or to seek alternate routes or utilize Metro Transit light rail and buses to reach campus. The Stadium Village light rail stop is located adjacent to TCF Bank Stadium, along with the East Bank station which are both an easy walk to many campus venues.
