Daniel Faalele was named one of Australia's 50 Greatest Living Athletes.
University of Minnesota offensive lineman Daniel Faalele was recently featured in GQ Australia. The Melbourne, Australia, native was named one of Australia's 50 Greatest Living Athletes by the publication.
GQ Australia described the 6-9, 400-pound Faalele thusly:
Status: Leader of the next gen.
The kind of human being that makes you think that some were simply born to dominate.
Faalele's natural penchant for bulldozing his fellow schoolchildren in youth rugby manifested itself into a stint learning the art of American Football at the famed IMG academy.
He's now enjoying a burgeoning career as an offensive lineman at the University of Minnesota, where he still makes the NCAA's finest look and feel like small children.
Next stop: the NFL.
Faalele played in 10 games in 2018 and started the final eight of the season at right tackle. He blocked for an offense that averaged 28.9 points per game, which is tied for second most in a season since 2005. Faalele also helped pave the way for Minnesota to rush for 23 touchdowns and pass for 20 touchdowns in 2018. Last season was the first time that the Gophers reached 20 rushing and passing touchdowns in the same season since 2006.
