Ramler En Route to NCAA Championships
4/17/2019 3:46:00 PM | Gymnastics
Lexy Ramler will represent the University of Minnesota women's gymnastics program as an individual all-around competitor at the 2019 NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas April 19 in the evening session at 6:00 p.m. CT. Live coverage of the weekend's events will be provided by ESPN3 and live stats will be available here.
The North Central Region Co-Gymnast of the Year, Ramler will compete alongside the University of Denver whose gymnasts include fellow regional honoree Maddie Karr. Ramler and the Pioneers will rotate beam-floor-vault-bars in the evening session on Friday, allowing the Gophers gymnast to begin and end the meet with her strongest events. The St. Michael, Minn. native advances to this year's national championships after scoring a 39.400 in the all-around at the Baton Rouge Regional earlier this month.Â
Ramler looks to build on what has already been an outstanding sophomore campaign for the all-arounder. Earlier this season, she became the highest-scoring all-around gymnast in program history after recording a career-high 39.725 vs Maryland. She boasts career-highs of 9.925 on vault, 9.950 on bars, 9.975 on beam and 9.950 on floor, giving her the potential to post a whopping 39.800 in the all-around if she were to match her personal bests.
The B1G Gymnast of the Year earned eight all-around crowns and collected a total of 28 event titles this season. She notched a 39.600 or higher at five different regular-season competitions and posted scores of 9.925 or higher on individual events 14 times throughout 2019.
Ramler has been ranked as one of the top-five individuals in the nation on the balance beam from Week 2 of the regular season all the way through Week 12. After Week 1 (the only week she spent outside of the top-five) she was ranked seventh in the NCAA. She tallied a career-high 9.975 this season and has seen three individual judges flash a perfect 10 for her routine. The sophomore received Regular Season First Team All-America honors on the apparatus for her performance throughout the season in addition to Second Team honors in the all-around and on the uneven bars.
