Gophers Set for Tulsa Showdown with Oklahoma State

6/10/2019 10:03:00 AM | Men's Basketball

The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will travel to Tulsa, Okla., in December to take part in the BOK Center Basketball Showdown. The Gophers will face Oklahoma State on Saturday, December 21, the second game of a two-year series in which the Maroon and Gold defeated the Cowboys, 83-76, at the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic in downtown Minneapolis.

Tickets for the event start at $15 and include the second game of the showdown, pitting Colorado State against Tulsa. An exclusive pre-sale for Gopher men's basketball season ticket holders opens on Thursday, June 13, with general public sales available Friday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m.

Oklahoma State returns all five starters from last year's squad while incorporating a top-20 recruiting class under third-year head coach Mike Boynton.

Minnesota and Oklahoma State have met seven times previously, with the Gophers leading the series 4-3. All four of the Gopher victories have come in Minneapolis, with three at the Barn and last year's win on a neutral court. OSU has won twice in Stillwater and once on a neutral floor, a 62-60 victory at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Dec. 12, 2015.

Game time and television broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
