From Dinkytown to the North Shore, nothing brings Minnesotans together more than cheering on the Maroon and Gold! Caribou Coffee has been hard at work this off-season perfectly roasting this hometown coffee to fuel the passion of Gopher fans across the state. Gopher Blend is available starting Thursday, Aug. 1 for a limited time in all Minnesota Caribou Coffee locations and on CaribouCoffee.com.
Caribou's popular Row the Boat Blend launched in Fall 2017 and has been a guest favorite the last two Gopher football seasons. Back with a new name and new look, each 10-ounce bag of Gopher Blend retails for $9.99. The bold and spirited medium roast is balanced with sweet, spicy and berry notes. Caribou will again be donating 10% of proceeds from every bag of Gopher Blend sold to University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.
"We are proud to be the official coffee of Gopher Athletics and thrilled to unveil our new Gopher Blend just in time for football season," says Kayleen Tecker, Partnership Marketing Manager at Caribou. "We could not be more excited to fuel Gopher fans across the state and have the opportunity to give back in partnership with our hometown teams at the same time!"
Give Better. Give Together.
Caribou Coffee launched its Give Better. Give Together. campaign in Fall 2018 with 10% of proceeds from Row the Boat Blend, Vikings Blend and exclusive Love Your Melon beanies going back to University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. The campaign raised $100,000 for programming and research in year one, and Caribou is excited to announce that the giveback will continue for a second season.
Patient families and hospital staff received the first bags of Caribou's new Gopher Blend this week at head coach P.J. Fleck's annual "Row the Boat BBQ" at Masonic Children's Hospital. A portion of Caribou's 2018 giveback went directly to support Coach Fleck's "Row the Boat Fund," which is aimed at providing critical patient and family services.
"University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is grateful for this outstanding partnership with Caribou, a brand as steeped in a rich Minnesota history as we are," said Joseph Neglia, MD, MPH, the physician-in-chief of Masonic Children's Hospital. "We hope the community will rally around this and help raise crucial money for our patients and families."
