Former Gopher tight end is a now a tackle for the Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings announced on Sunday that it signed former Golden Gopher Nate Wozniak.
Wozniak, who spent the 2018 season on the New Orleans Saints practice squad, played tight end for the Gophers from 2013-17. The Vikings signed him as an offensive tackle. Wozniak, who is 6-10, was listed at 280 pounds as a senior for the Gophers. However, he is now listed at 302 pounds as a tackle in the NFL (he must still be eating some chicken parmesan).
Wozniak played in 43 career games for the Maroon and Gold after a redshirt year in 2013. He recorded 28 career catches for 314 yards. The Greenwood, Ind., native was also an accomplished blocker for the Gophers. Wozniak played in 38 games from 2015-17 and in those games, Minnesota rushed for a total of 6,449 yards and 71 touchdowns.
