Gophers Announce Student Rewards App for 2019-20

Gopher Athletics is pleased to offer a Student Rewards App for all current University of Minnesota students during the 2019-20 season.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Gopher Athletics is pleased to offer a Student Rewards App for all currently enrolled University of Minnesota students during the 2019-20 season. The Student Rewards App, in partnership with Game Point, is FREE for all University of Minnesota students to download and use. Rewards and perks are achieved by attending Gopher Athletics events on campus throughout the 2019-20 academic year.
By enabling their geolocation within the app, students are encouraged to "check in" at all Gopher home events to earn points. The longer students stay at an event, the more points they will earn. Monthly leaders are eligible to win cash prizes, and all students can redeem their accrued points for various discounts or perks at local restaurants, stores, and more.
The Gophers are one of the first athletic departments to utilize Game Point, an app that was founded and created by former Golden Gopher student-athlete and University of Minnesota alum Justin Levin.
"Game Point's goal is to drive school pride by attending college athletics events and supporting local businesses in the surrounding community" Levin said. "It also provides great rewards to students for not only attending games, but for staying for the entirety of the event."
University of Minnesota students can begin accruing points within the Game Point app beginning with the the Gopher Football home opener at TCF Bank Stadium against South Dakota State this Thursday.
