Minnesota Set For Three Appearances on National Television

8/30/2019 9:54:00 AM | Soccer

The Gopher soccer team is set to appear on national television for three games this season, including two at the Gophers home at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.

The first nationally televised game will come on Sept. 12 when the Gophers face North Carolina State in a nonconference matchup between two 2018 NCAA Tournament teams. NC State's 2018 tournament run ended with a 5-0 loss to UCLA, the same way the Gophers campaign ended the round prior. That matchup will be live on Big Ten Network.

The following month Minnesota then hosts Nebraska on Oct. 17 which will be shown nationwide on ESPNU. The Gophers defeated Nebraska 2-0 in last season's Big Ten Tournament and have not lost to the Cornhuskers since the 2013 campaign.

The Gophers return to Big Ten Network when they take on Northwestern on Oct. 24 in Evanston, Illinois. Northwestern was also a 2018 NCAA tournament team and their run ended with a 1-0 loss to NC State in the opening round.

Additionally, all Big Ten Tournament games will be television on the conference's network.
