Gophers Trek to West Coast to Compete in ITA Kick-Off Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Nine members of the University of Minnesota women's tennis team will trek to the Pacific Time Zone this weekend to compete in the ITA Kick-Off weekend hosted by No.4 UCLA from Jan. 24-25. In attendance with the Gophers and Bruins, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Loyola Marymount Lions will also be competing.
"I am really looking forward to getting some sun and being able to play against such strong caliber teams," Gophers senior Tina Kreinis said. "It will be a great experience for myself, the whole team and will give us a chance to see what we're made of."
The Gophers will compete against Bruins on Friday at 3:30 p.m. CST. In their last meeting with UCLA (Jan. 26, 2019), Minnesota left unfinished business in a valiant effort as they fell 4-0 to a No. 8 UCLA team.
Gonzaga and Loyola Marymount will kick-off the weekend at 11:30 a.m. CST on Friday. The winner of each match will face off on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. CST and the loser of each match will play at 8:00 p.m. CST.
