Gophers Announce Second Half Schedule

Minnesota resumes play in the new year on Monday, Jan. 4 at Ridder Arena.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota women's hockey team will resume play with seven regular-season WCHA series in 2021, the Golden Gophers announced Wednesday as the Western Collegiate Hockey Association unveiled the second half of its 2020-21 composite schedule.
The No. 2 Gophers (5-1-0, 5-1-0 WCHA) resume play with a series against No. 6 Minnesota Duluth (4-2-0, 4-2-0 WCHA) at Ridder Arena on Monday, Jan. 4 and Tuesday, Jan. 5. A home-and-home series with St. Cloud State (2-4-0, 2-4-0 WCHA) follows with games at Ridder Arena on Saturday, Jan. 9 and at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on Sunday. Jan. 10.
Minnesota then faces No. 1 Wisconsin (1-1-0, 1-1-0 WCHA) and No. 4 Ohio State (2-2-0, 2-2-0 WCHA) in back-to-back series on the road and at home. The Gophers and Badgers play in Madison, Wis., on Friday, Jan. 15 and Saturday, Jan. 16 before the Maroon & Gold travels to Columbus, Ohio for games against the Buckeyes on Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30. Minnesota then returns home to host the Badgers in the second Border Battle series of the year on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6 before hosting the Buckeyes on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13.
A road series at Bemidji State (1-1-0, 1-1-0 WCHA) closes out the regular season on Friday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 20.
At this time there will be no ticket sales for Gopher women's hockey home games as Minnesota Department of Health guidelines specify that all entertainment venues are required to be closed to members of the public.
Details regarding the 2021 WCHA Final Faceoff and NCAA postseason will be released at a later date. The 2021 NCAA Frozen Four is scheduled for Friday, March 19 and Sunday, March 21 in Erie, Pa.
