No-Hitter
The no-hitter eluded Amber Fiser throughout the 2019 season as the All-American tossed four complete game one-hitters. That wasn't going to be the case in 2020. Fiser tossed a five-inning no-hitter against Tulsa on Friday evening with eight strikeouts and only allowed two baserunners. The Van Horne, Iowa native finished the weekend with a 2-1 record and 20 strikeouts over 19.1 innings of work. She only gave up two runs in four games. Fiser's no-hitter was her first since a perfect game at Purdue on April 27, 2018.
NO-NO! For the first time since Apr. 27, 2018 at Purdue, @amber_fiser tosses a no-hitter! That's the third in her career. #SkiUMah pic.twitter.com/zm2CyluXCb

Third career no-hitter and first since 2018! This one has to feel good after four one-hitters for @amber_fiser last season: pic.twitter.com/9qrLJdhkJj

Holly Rowe
Fiser's no-hitter caught the attention of the collegiate softball world, including ESPN reporter Holly Rowe. The sportscaster that is known as a legend around the league, caught up with our Gopher legend after the no-no and was kind enough to take a team picture. Holly interviewed Fiser and will feature the discussion this week on the ESPN 7 Innings Podcast.

Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good
The Gophers are the freshest looking team in collegiate softball. At least that's what we are going to keep telling ourselves. Just before the start of the season you got a look at our new custom bats by DeMarini, and this weekend, Minnesota debuted a new helmet design. The all white helmets feature a silhouette face of Goldy on the right side and "Gophers" written in script on the left side. The traditional maroon "M" logo can be found right above the bill of the helmet. Gophers fans and sports gear enthusiasts certainly loved this clean new look as photos of the helmet garnered over a thousand likes on social media throughout the weekend.

SC Top-10
We have been telling you to jump on the bandwagon for the country's quietest start the past two seasons, and this weekend the whole nation heard us loud and clear. MaKenna Partain booked herself the No. 7 spot on SportsCenter Top-10 Saturday night after a diving stop and back-handed flip to get the out at second base. The highlight clip has reached more than 80,000 views and was featured on SportsCenter and NBC Sports. We're going to need a bigger bandwagon.
Oh by the way, the next day Partain hit a game winning home run to launch the Gophers to a 3-1 victory over Tulsa.
This play is flipping amazing 😳😳 (🎥 @GopherSoftball) pic.twitter.com/zmQtqOiiXd
