‘U’ Honored with NABC Team Academic Excellence Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After one of the best academic years in program history, the Minnesota men's basketball team was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches Thursday with its Team Academic Excellence Award.
The Gophers posted program records with a spring term grade point average of 3.29 while the team's cumulative GPA rose to 3.08. Five different Gophers earned Academic All-Big Ten honors (Hunt Conroy, Michael Hurt, Gabe Kalscheur, Brady Rudrud, Payton Willis), with Conroy and Willis also earning NABC Honors Court recognition earlier this week.
The eighth-annual award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season. In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2019-20 season.
