Gopher Women's Gymnastics offers their best advice to the University of Minnesota's incoming freshmen
As the University of Minnesota welcomes in a new school year and group of incoming freshmen, Gopher Women's Gymnastics offers their advice to the new students. Find the best tips to start the semester on a successful note below.
Maya Albertin- "Make yourself familiar with campus right when you get there. That way you will be comfortable with walking around and you will be able to find buildings really easy."
Kate Grotenhuis- "Definitely make sure you know how to use all the buses around campus."
Mary Korlin-Downs- "Take your time finding your major. Figure out something you are passionate about and something you want to do for the rest of your life. It doesn't matter if you change it, as long as you find something you are passionate about. Go for it."
Mallory LeNeave- "The best advice I can give is to stay organized. The semester can get crazy really quickly so it is important that you stay on top of everything and don't get behind. Good Luck, and Go Gophers!"
Ona Loper- "Professors are always really willing to work with you as long as you are putting in the effort. Make sure that if you have any questions or need help to reach out to them because they will give you the support you need."
Lexy Ramler- "Enjoy every single year as you develop incredible relationships that last forever."
Halle Remlinger- "Take advantage of all the new experiences and opportunities that you have in college because time flies by fast"
Tiarre Sales- "Welcome to the U and don't forget to wear your mask around campus! Go Gophers!"
Hannah Willmarth- "Explore the campus and the city of Minneapolis because there are so many cool places"

The women's gymnastics program also welcomes six incoming gymnasts for the 2020-21 season, and the upperclassmen had special words of encouragement for the new additions to the team.
Maya Albertin- "Don't be afraid to ask questions, we are all here to help you, and do not be so hard on yourself. Freshman year is definitely not easy so just be nice to yourself."
Ona Loper- "The next four years are going to go by really fast and be kind of crazy, so just be grateful and embrace every single opportunity and resource you are given here at the U."
Abbie Nylin - "Never be afraid to ask for help. Professors, staff and the girls on the team will always be more than willing to help you out."
Lexy Ramler- "Work hard, enjoy your time, and take advantage of all the incredible opportunities you have here at the University of Minnesota."
Halle Remlinger- "Prepare and plan out your day the night before. We have such busy schedules so it is going to be super helpful to plan out your day and know what you need!"
Hannah Willmarth- "Enjoy every second of being part of a college team because four years goes by so fast."
