MINNEAPOLIS – The Golden Gopher women's soccer program has officially announced their 2020-21 schedule for the spring season. Minnesota will compete in an 11-game, conference-only slate, beginning on Feb. 20 with a home matchup against Nebraska.
The 2021 spring schedule includes six home games and five road tilts. After the season opens on Feb. 20, Minnesota will take to the road to face Michigan (Feb. 25) and Michigan State (Feb. 28). Minnesota will then return home for a pair of games versus Northwestern (March 4) and Illinois (March 7).
Thereafter, the Gophers will go back on the road for a trio of contests against Iowa (March 13), Penn State (March 18) and Rutgers (March 21). That road trip will be followed by three home games to close out the conference slate in the form of Purdue (March 25), Maryland (March 28) and Wisconsin (April 3).
Following the 11-game stretch of conference play, there will be a "wildcard weekend" held from April 8-11. During this time, Minnesota will compete in one-to-two additional matchups against Big Ten opponents, although those games will not count towards conference play.
The Big Ten Tournament is set to be held from April 15-18, with four teams eligible to make the cut.
Game times and venues, as well as broadcast information, will be announced at a later date. There will be no general public ticket sales for Gopher Soccer home games as all Big Ten institutions have agreed to limit attendance to immediate families of competing student-athletes and coaches/team staff. All schedules are subject to change.Â
