The Golden Gophers have announced the program's 2020-21 cross country and indoor track & field schedules.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Golden Gopher men's and women's track & field and cross country program has announced its 2020-21 competition schedules for cross country and indoor track & field.
"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to compete," director of track & field and cross country Matt Bingle said. "We appreciate all the hard work that has gone into getting us to this point. We're still taking things week by week, and we will be prepared to seize every opportunity we have. Our mantra doesn't change - we're still striving for excellence and we want to achieve some great things this year."
The Gophers' indoor track & field schedule includes eight weeks of competition beginning with a meet at Iowa this Saturday, Jan. 9 and concluding with the 2021 Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio (Feb. 25-27) and NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. (March 12-13).
Minnesota's regular-season indoor track & field competition slate includes three meets hosted by Iowa (Jan. 9, Jan. 23, and Feb. 13), two hosted by Nebraska (Jan. 16 and Feb. 6), and one hosted by Illinois (Jan. 30). The Gophers are not scheduled to host any home meets during the 2021 indoor season.
The competition announcement also includes two cross country meets as the Big Ten Cross Country Championships will be held in Shelbyville, Ind. (Jan. 30) and the NCAA Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. (March 15).
Meet times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date, and all schedules are subject to change.
