MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota Gophers track & field programs announced both their indoor and outdoor schedules for the upcoming 2021-22 season Monday morning.

INDOOR

Indoor Track Schedule 2021-22

Minnesota will kick their indoor season off in Brookings, S.D. at the South Dakota State Holiday Invite on December 3. They will then take a month off before hosting their home opener, the Minnesota Open, on January 8.

Over the remainder of the month of January, Minnesota will make appearances at the St. Thomas Open on the 14th (St. Paul, Minn.), the Big Ten Invite on the 15th (Chicago, Ill.) and the Cyclone Open on the 22nd (Ames, Iowa). They will round out January with Minnesota's own Jack Johnson Classic and the University of Kentucky Invite on January 28-29.

February begins with another pair of meets for the Maroon and Gold, with the University of Kentucky Invite and Minnesota's own Gopher Classic on the 4th and 5th. They'll follow that pair up a week later with a trio of meets the next weekend, those being St. Thomas's The Showcase, the Iowa State Classic and the University of Arkansas's Tyson Invite.

Minnesota's last competition before the Big Ten Conference Championships will be their final home meet of the indoor season, the Snowshoe Open on February 18. The Gophers will then head to Geneva, Ohio from February 25-26 for the Big Ten Championships.

The indoor season will officially wrap up the following month, with the NCAA Championships slated for March 11-12 in Birmingham, Ala.

OUTDOOR

Outdoor Track Schedule 2021-22

The outdoor season will kick off in early February when the Gophers travel to Pomona, Calif. on February 12 for the Pomona Pitzer Invitational. Minnesota will then take over a month off before they resume the outdoor season on March 18-19 in Orlando, Fl. for the University of Central Florida's Black & Gold Invite.

The Gophers will wrap up the month of March with a pair of meets from March 24-26, with some of the team heading to North Carolina State University for the Raleigh Relays while the rest will head to Tempe, Ariz. for a meeting with Arizona State University.

April will be a busy month for the Gophers, with the first taste of action coming at the Hamline Invite on April 2. The following weekend, they'll head to Athens, Ga. for Georgia's Spec Towns Invitational from April 8-9, before heading back to the Twin Cities for the Tomcat Twilight meet in St. Paul, Minn. on April 13.

The programs will then have action at the Mt. Sac Relays from April 14-16 before returning home for their true home opener, the Brave Like Gabe Invite, on April 20. The programs will split the following weekend, with a portion headed to Baton Rouge, La. for LSU's Alumni Gold Invite and the other half staying close to home for a meet with Concordia.

The Drake Relays from April 28-30 in Des Moines, Iowa and the Macalester Invite on April 30 will finish out the month for Minnesota, with only two meets to come before the Big Ten Championships in May. Those pair of meets will be the Tommie Twilight on May 4 and the Meet of the Unsaintly on May 6, both of which will be held in St. Paul, Minn.

The Gophers will kick off the outdoor championship season by hosting the Big Ten Championships from May 13-15. After the conference championships, Minnesota will head to Fayetteville, Ark. for the West Region of the NCAA First Round from May 26-28 before ultimately wrapping up the season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. from June 8-11.
