Pahl Named WCHA Goaltender of the Week

Junior Makayla Pahl posted two wins, including her first career shutout, in the Gophers' series sweep over Minnesota State.
MINNEAPOLIS – Junior goaltender Makayla Pahl has been selected as WCHA Goaltender of the Week following the Golden Gophers' home-and-home sweep over Minnesota State last weekend.
Pahl earns her first WCHA Goaltender of the Week award after leading the Gophers to 3-0 and 6-2 wins over the Mavericks. She stopped all 14 shots that she saw on Friday to earn her first career shutout. Pahl got her second straight start on Saturday and stopped 9 of 11 shots to guide the 'U' to their sweep-clinching victory. The Rochester, Minn., native currently holds a 1.21 GAA and .920 save percentage this season. This is the Gophers' first WCHA weekly award of the season and first WCHA Goaltender of the Week award since Lauren Bench took home the honors on Dec. 1, 2020.
No. 5 Minnesota hits the road to battle No. 3 Colgate. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT Friday and 1:00 p.m. CT Saturday in Hamilton, NY.
