Zumwinkle, Murphy and Six Minnesota Alumni Named to USWNT Olympic Residency Program

Team USA will compete in two competitions against Canada on Oct. 22 and 25, with additional games to be announced.

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — USA Hockey announced on Friday the U.S. Women's National Team Olympic residency roster that will train and compete in preparations for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, beginning Feb. 3 in Beijing, China. Grace Zumwinkle, Abbey Murphy and six Minnesota alumni were named to the roster. 

The U.S. residency roster is headlined by 2018 Olympic gold medalists Hannah Brandt, Dani Cameranesi, Amanda Kessel, Kelly Pannek and Lee Stecklein. 2021 IIHF silver medalists Megan Bozek, Abbey Murphy and Grace Zumwinkle round out the group of Gophers representatives. 

A total of 28 players will live and train in Blaine, Minn. in preparation for the winter games. Two matchups against Team Canada are scheduled for Oct. 22 in Allentown, Pa. and Oct. 25 in Hartford, Conn. Additional games are set to be announced.
