Riley Sets Single Game Sack Record in Win Over Iowa
Karon Riley had a school record four sacks and Jermaine Mays had an 81-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter of a 27-24 win against Iowa at the Metrodome. The win sealed Minnesota's second straight bowl bid and the Gophers would continue on to play in the MicronPC.com Bowl against NC State.
Riley's four sack record has since been matched by Willie VanDeSteeg vs Michigan State in 2006.
