Gophers Defeat No. 1 Michigan State

Minnesota upset nationally top-ranked Michigan State, 13-0, in a crucial Big Ten football game. Halfback Bill Munsey scored both Gopher touchdowns, one on a lateral from quarterback Sandy Stephens and the other on the 23-yard payoff toss by Stephens. The victory put the Gophers in a tie for first place in the Big Ten standings and set them up for a Rose Bowl appearance later in the season.
