The Gophers go 3-1 in doubles play and 6-2 in singles against the Crimson
Minnesota opened their Harvard Invitational taking on the hosts. The Gophers earned a 3-1 record across doubles play, starting their tournament off on a strong note. The pairing of Dalila Said and Maria Rizzolo defeated Fischer/You 6-2, while Rachel Hanford and Emilee Duong outlasted Daujotaite/Duncan in a back and forth 7-5 victory. Anfisa Danilchenko and Lucy Lu went to a tiebreaker set facing Gawande/Lim, where they fell in a close 6-7 defeat. Doubles Play wrapped up for the day with Vasia Karvouni and Zeyneb Sarioglan winning against Snyder/Leschly.
In singles play, the Gophers went 6-2, finishing a winning day against Harvard. Emilee Duong, Vasia Karvouni, Dalila Said, and Zeyneb Sarioglan each won their matches in straight sets. Rachel Hanford and Mario Rizzolo won in third sets, outlasting opponents 10-6, and 10-8 respectively. Freshman Anfisa Danilchenko and Lucy Lu each took their Harvard opponents to a final set, falling in close matches 4-10, and 11-13. Minnesota will look to continue their success tomorrow against Boston College.
