Devin Stanford spent five years with the Golden Gopher track & field team from 2012-15. A Milwaukee native and a Lutheran High School graduate, Stanford graduated from Minnesota with degrees in Spanish and elementary education.

She was named team captain her redshirt senior year (2015), completing her Gopher career ranked second all-time in the Gopher history book indoors in the weight throw with a career-best mark of 20.61 meters (67-07.50 ft.).

Stanford solidified herself in the record books by breaking Minnesota's program record in the hammer throw (61.82 meters, 202-10 ft) during her fifth and final outdoor track & field campaign. She also ended her career ranked seventh in Minnesota history in the discus with a career-best throw of 54.24 meters (177-11 ft.). She earned two top-three finishes at the 2015 Big Ten Outoor Championship, earning Second Team All-Big Ten honors as hammer throw runner-up and finishing second in the discus. Stanford was also a four-year Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

Stanford developed her passion for special education in college tutoring a child with autism. It was the improvement and the smallest progress that was the most rewarding. It was that experience with children that solidified her desire to work with kids of special needs. After completing her time as Gopher, she joined Teach for America and secured a master's degree in special education. She is currently in the process of getting Board Certification in Special Education and looking for work in Philadelphia, Pa.
