Gophers Slated to Participate in 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota women's basketball is scheduled to be one of eight teams taking place in the first ever Women's Battle 4 Atlantis this coming November, it was announced Tuesday.
Taking place Nov. 20-22 at Atlantis Paradise Island in The Bahamas, Minnesota joins Buffalo, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Florida and Syracuse as members of the inaugural field that features 12 national championships, 28 Final Four appearances and 43 conference titles.
Minnesota has 11 members of this past season's squad slated to return, while seniors Laura Bagwell Katalinich and Gadiva Hubbard both have the ability to utilize an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic should they choose to do so.
Rising juniors Jasmine Powell and Sara Scalia each earned All-Big Ten honors this past season. Powell was named Second Team All-Big Ten by the league's coaches and Honorable Mention All-Big Ten by the media covering the conference. Meanwhile, Scalia was chosen Honorable Mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and media.
In addition, Minnesota welcomes in a freshman class of Maggie Czinano and Alanna Micheaux. Katie Borowicz was also a signee in the class but enrolled early and joined the team in January.
