Tristana Tatur joins the Gopher women’s hockey program as a forward from Maple Grove, Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS – Head coach Brad Frost and the Golden Gopher women's hockey team are pleased to announce the addition of Tristana Tatur to the team's incoming class for the 2021-22 season. Tatur joins Emma Conner, Peyton Hemp, Ella Huber, Sadie Lindsay, Skylar Vetter, and Emily Zumwinkle to make up the newest class of Gophers.

"Tristana is a hard-nosed, 200-foot player," Frost said. "She competes at both ends of the ice, and she has the ability to score along with the capabilities to shut other teams down. We're looking forward to having her grit in our lineup."

A right-handed forward, Tatur joins the Gophers from Maple Grove Senior High School. Named a three-time all-conference and two-time all-section and all-area honoree, Tatur helped the Crimson to back-to-back Minnesota Class AA state tournament appearances as a sophomore and junior. Last season, she was named an all-state selection after helping Maple Grove to an 18-6-1 overall record and fourth-place finish at state. She also has attended USA Hockey national development camps. Tatur intends to major in Business and Marketing Education at the University of Minnesota. She is the daughter of Jeff Tatur and April Tatur.

Tatur on Why Minnesota: I chose the University of Minnesota because I wanted to stay close to home, get a great education, and play hockey at the highest level.
