White Sox Sign Glowicki to Minor League Contract

An All-Big Ten selection, Glowicki's 16 saves as a senior remain a 'U' record.
MINNEAPOLIS – The Chicago White Sox have signed University of Minnesota alum and All-Big Ten pitcher Brian Glowicki to a minor league contract after the righty started the season with the Kansas City Monarchs in the American Association.
A native of Downers Grove, Ill., Glowicki spent the 2020 season with the St. Paul Saints, where he pitched in 25 games with a 2.78 ERA and a 3-0 record.
With the Gophers, Glowicki made 74 career appearances in his four-year tenure (2014-17) with 105 strikeouts and a 3.88 ERA. As a junior, he helped the Maroon & Gold win a Big Ten regular-season title, win an NCAA regional at Siebert Field and advance to an NCAA Super Regional. He closed out his collegiate career in 2017 as a Second Team All-Big Ten selection and a College Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher of the Year semifinalist when he set a school record with 16 saves as a senior.
Glowicki was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 10th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
