Andries, Olson Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Andries is a repeat honoree, while Olson is recognized for the first time

The Minnesota football program had two student-athletes honored as CoSIDA Academic All-District first-team members. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

The Gophers who were recognized are standout offensive linemen Blaise Andries and Conner Olson. Andries is a repeat honoree, as he was also named a Second Team Academic All-American last season. This is the first honor for Olson. 

Andries is an aspiring actuary who is majoring in Mathematics. The Marshall, Minn., native is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and has named named All-Big Ten Third Team twice. He has started all 33 games he has played in and Minnesota is 21-12 in those contests. 

Olson earned his undergraduate degree in Human Physiology and is pursuing an advanced degree in Public Health Administration and Policy. He recently took the MCAT and is planning to attend medical school after his playing days are over. Olson has started all 45 games of his career, seeing action at left guard (16 starts), center (15 starts) and right guard (14 starts). Minnesota is 26-19 with him in the lineup. Olson was named All-Big Ten Third Team in 2020 and is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
