MINNEAPOLIS - Four-time NCAA Champion diver Sarah Bacon wrapped up her competition at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Diving Team Trials Saturday night with a third place finish overall on the individual three-meter springboard (912.10).

Bacon stayed within reaching distance of the top-two spots throughout the entirety of the finals round, with four of her five dives scoring 65.10 or above. Her best dive of the day scored a whopping 76.50, which marked her best scoring dive through the entirety of the trials.

Bacon competed in the three-meter synchronized springboard final of the trials with her synchro partner Kassidy Cook Thursday night as well. The duo finished Thursday's final with a second-overall finish (871.50), partly due to throwing a massive 72.90 scoring dive on the final dive of the round.

Wrapping up the competition for the Gophers at the trials Sunday night will be junior Jake Butler, who will be vying for a spot on Team USA in the men's individual three-meter springboard final. The six-dive final will kick off at 6 p.m. CT and is scheduled to air on NBC. Jake is entering the finals round in ninth place with a 12-dive score of 713.25, and will need to jump into the top-two to be selected to Team USA.
