Eleven Gophers Honored by PFF

Minnesota hosts Ohio State on Thursday, Sept. 2
The University of Minnesota football team had 11 players recognized by PFF on its Preseason College Football All-Big Ten Team.
The Gophers had seven players on offense honored, three on defense and one on special teams.
On offense, reigning Big Ten Running Back of the Year Mohamed Ibrahim was named to the first team, while receiver Chris Autman-Bell and offensive tackle Blaise Andries were placed on the second team. Center John Michael Schmitz and guard Conner Olson were recognized as third team members. Receiving honorable mention accolades were quarterback Tanner Morgan and offensive tackle Daniel Faalele.
On defense, edge defender Boye Mafe was slotted on the second team, while cornerback Coney Durr was placed on the third team. Safety Justus Harris was named honorable mention.
Kicker Matthew Trickett, who transferred to Minnesota from Kent State this year, was named to the first team. Trickett was named the 2019 MAC Special Teams Player of the Year.
Minnesota opens the season on Thursday, Sept. 2 at home against Ohio State. Season tickets are on sale now.
