MINNEAPOLIS – University of Minnesota student-athletes Conner Olson (football) and Jessica Lee (women's golf) have been honored as 2020-21 Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship recipients, the conference announced on Wednesday.

The Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship is granted to one male and one female student-athlete from each of the 14 member institutions for the continuation of their education beyond a baccalaureate degree. To qualify as a candidate for the scholarship, student-athletes had to maintain above a 3.2 GPA as well as demonstrate their suitability as a leader and role model for those around them in and out of their sport.

A native of Monticello, Minn., Olson earned All-Big Ten Third Team honors in 2020 as an offensive lineman after being recognized as All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2019 and 2018. The three-time Academic All-Big Ten and two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar has started all 45 games of his collegiate career including all seven games as a senior with Minnesota averaging 27.3 points per game behind Olson and the offensive line. Olson, who will return for a sixth season with the Gophers in 2021, earned a bachelor's degree in human physiology and is currently enrolled in a master's program for public health administration and policy.

A native of Hinsdale, Ill., Lee competed in 12 tournaments for the Maroon & Gold during her four-year collegiate career. The three-time Academic All-Big Ten and 2021 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar represented the University of Minnesota at the Big Ten championships on two occasions including her final collegiate appearance with the Gophers at the 2021 conference competition. Lee earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the Carlson School of Management in 2021.
